Dads urged to Know their workplace rights
Acas estimates that more than 1000 soon-to-be dads call its Helpline each year to understand their rights at work regarding paternity.
The conciliation service is now urging working dads or dads-to-be to take the opportunity to know rights such as when to take time off, getting paid and flexible working.
With extended rights coming in from April next year allowing working dads to take additional paternity leave, it's important that dads know their rights and the guidance and support on offer.
Acas has issued practical guidance for working dads or those about to become a dad (this includes adoptive fathers to be), their rights in the workplace and guidance on other issues including paternity leave and flexible working.
