Key Aim of the role
To continuously support and drive the business to achieve optimum financial results and cash flow by constantly improving cash collection.
Day to day duties:
> To manage the outstanding sales balances falling due and contact customers before the balances become overdue to confirm payments.
> To credit check new account applications and monitor existing credit limits for customers through credit checking agencies.
> Create relationships with the customers in order to investigate customer complaints, aid query resolution and ensure prompt payments are being received. This may involve visiting customers where appropriate in order to gain timely resolve to any issues.
> To ensure payments are correctly allocated, to the appropriate account and against the appropriate invoice.
> Ensure customer contact details and payment terms are accurately shown on accounting database.
> To issue monthly customer statements where appropriate.
> Liaise with management with regards to accounts that require further advanced collection activity either through the companys credit insurers or litigation via the company solicitors.
> To review the company credit control procedure and develop and implement enhancements where required.
As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
> FMCG experience (Desirable)
> Have dealt with major multiples (grocers) business (Desirable)
> Computer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word and EDI (Essential)
> Had sole responsibility for sales ledger/credit control function within a business (Essential)
> Excellent communication skills (Essential)
