Main Objective:
To provide a full range of secretarial services within the Business Client Department at the Worcester office

Skills Knowledge and Experience required:

1. Audio and typewriting/word-processing skills to an acceptable standard of speed and accuracy.

2. Minimum of four GCSE subjects (or equivalent), one of which must be English.

3. A minimum of four years secretarial experience with previous experience in legal environment preferred, knowledge in this area of law an advantage.

4. General secretarial skills including:
- ability to organise filing and documentation;
- a pleasant and competent telephone manner;
- maintaining diary and a knowledge of general office procedures.

Key Tasks:

1. Audio typing of correspondence and legal documents using MS Word and case management.
2. Dealing with clients on the telephone and in person, taking and passing on their instructions and messages
3. Liasing with professional firms
4. Making appointments and maintaining the diary
5. Filing, making up new files
6. Giving quotes to prospective clients
7. Making searches by phone and on the internet
8. Visiting other firms of solicitors to complete property transactions
9. Photocopying
10. Helping other departments within the practice should the work load permit
